The University of New South Wales (UNSW), usually referred to as UNSW Sydney is an Australian public research university with its headquarters in Sydney, New South Wales. It is a founding member of the Group of Eight, an association of Australian institutions with a strong focus on research.

UNSW is a research university that was founded in 1949. It belongs to the worldwide Universitas 21 network of research universities. The median ATAR (Australian University admission examination results) of the students at UNSW’s medical school is greater than that of any other Australian undergraduate medical school, making it one of the top Australian institutions in medicine.

Application Process for University of New South Wales UNSW Graduate Scholarship

Finding a supervisor who shares your research interests and working preferences is essential to your success as a candidate for a higher research degree. The faculties listed below request that applicants submit an expression of interest.

Before applying, most faculties urge candidates to get in touch with possible supervisors. Look for supervisors and research projects in your region. Please email the principal supervisor with a copy of your resume and academic transcripts if you are interested in a research project that has been posted on the school’s website. The project description includes their contact information as well as any extra criteria.

The pre-admission interview will cover your intended research project and if suitable resources will be available after you have chosen a supervisor. After that, you must complete the Research Plan form. This will comprise a:

  • Description of your eligibility for admission to the program;
  • Describe your capacity for conducting high-quality research;
  • Justification for your selection of the project and management team; and

Only applications that are complete, or include all necessary papers, will move on to the next phase.

Simply mark the scholarship round for your desired term start date on the application form if you want to be eligible for one. Your program must be located at the same institution as your supervisor.
