The University District area in east Memphis contains the University of Memphis campus, which is situated about 5 miles (8.0 km) east of the city center. Its size is 1,160 acres (4.7 km2), although this number does not account for the law school, which opened in January 2010 and is housed in the old US federal custom house in downtown Memphis. The old section of the site is around 30 acres (120,000 m2).

The University of Memphis Scholarship offers the recipient a range of sums to pay the cost of domestic and foreign non-Tennessee resident tuition. Please be aware that this scholarship cannot be paired with any other institutional awards from the University of Montana. Regarding departmental financing, exceptions are permitted.
Eligibility Criteria for University of Memphis Scholarships
Applicants are advised to meet the following conditions to be eligible for the University of Memphis Scholarships:
- English is a required language.
- All nations in the world are eligible.
For an undergraduate scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- 1200 SAT or 25 ACT points
- According to www.naces.org, the corresponding undergraduate degree GPA in the United States is 3.25.
For a master’s scholarship, students must meet the following standards:
- 310 GRE, or a similar score on other tests
- 3.25 U.S. equivalent undergraduate grade point average, as verified by a credential evaluation organization (www.naces.org), or a pertinent master’s degree from an established and recognized school
