About the University of Dundee and Scholarship
Scotland’s Dundee is home to the University of Dundee, a public research institution. Thanks to a donation from the prominent Baxter family of textile manufacturers, it was founded in 1881 as a university institution. As a constituent college of the University of St Andrews, the organization spent the most of its early years sharing St Andrews with United College and St Mary’s College. After undergoing significant expansion but retaining elements of its dated customs and governing structure, the University of Dundee was granted autonomous university status by royal charter in 1967.
