Brisbane, Queensland, Australia’s major coastal metropolis of Brisbane is home to the public research institution known as Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove are the two Brisbane-area campuses where QUT is situated. The Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) was transformed into a university in 1989 by the Queensland University of Technology Act 1988, and the ensuing Queensland University of Technology began operations in January 1989. This is how the university now exists. Brisbane College of Advanced Education and QUT joined in 1990.
In 2020, QUT had 52,672 students, including 39,156 undergraduate, 10,390 graduate, and 661 non-award students. The Top 100 Under 50 Years World Young University Rankings category of the 2013 Times Higher Education World University Rankings named QUT as Australia’s best university under the age of 50. QUT was ranked first in Australia and 26th globally in that category.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assigned it the 28th global ranking in THE Top 150 Under 50 Years category in 2016 and the 24th global ranking in the Top 200 Under 50 Years category in 2017. Both times, it achieved the second-highest and top-two positions in Australia. The 2018 Top 250 Under 50 Years World Young University Rankings place QUT at number 20 globally. According to the QS Top 50 Under 50 Years World Young University Rankings for 2019 and 2020, QUT is rated 19th overall.
The Queensland University of Technology QUT Excellence Scholarship is now accepting applications from qualified, intelligent individuals who want to enroll in the university’s degree programs on a local or international basis.
The QUT Excellence Scholarship has a maximum value of $30,000. For the whole length of your degree, up to three years ($10,000 each year), these scholarships will be paid as a study stipend of up to $5,000 following the HECS-HELP census date of each semester. It is possible to apply for this scholarship if you want to enroll in a course in the Creative Industries that requires extra admissions criteria, such as an audition or portfolio.
You could qualify for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Creative Industries) or the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic) if you’re interested in a Creative Industries course that isn’t covered by this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for QUT Excellence Scholarship
Candidates must fulfill the requirements listed below to be eligible for the QUT Excellence Scholarship for International Students:
- International students are required to apply.
- Citizens of Australia or New Zealand are required to apply.
- A long-term resident
- Someone who has a perpetual humanitarian visa
- A foreign student who finished their high school education through the Australian curriculum (or the International Baccalaureate) abroad
You must also:
- Be beginning your first year of college in 2023.
- Have listed one of the approved courses in the creative industries as your top choice on your QTAC application.
Application Process for QUT Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship can be applied for without following any particular application procedures. All candidates who apply for an eligible course will be taken into account.
