About Flinders University and Scholarship
A public research university with 11 campuses distributed across the state of South Australia and the Northern Territory, Flinders University is located in Adelaide, South Australia. The British sailor Matthew Flinders, who in the early nineteenth century explored and mapped the Australian and South Australian coastlines, is honored by the name of the place.
Bedford Park, the main campus of Flinders University, is located in the southern part of Adelaide and is surrounded by 156 acres of native bushland and gardens, making it a green university. Tonsley, Adelaide Central Business District, Renmark, Alice Springs, and Darwin are among the other campuses. It is a member of the IRU Group (Innovative Research Universities).
According to the 2021 Graduate Outcome Survey – Longitudinal, published by the Australian Government’s Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching, Flinders University tops the nation in postgraduate employment outcomes.
The main campus of the university is 12 kilometers south of the city center in the Adelaide suburb of Bedford Park in the inner southern region of the city. In addition, Tonsley and Victoria Square in the city center are home to the university. It also maintains several external teaching sites in remote South Australia, southwest Victoria, and the Northern Territory. International students make up 19.5% of the on-campus student body as of 2020, and several offshore programs are also available, especially in the Asia-Pacific area. According to the 2022 Times Higher Education rankings, Flinders University ranks 266th among the world’s top 300 universities.
The Matthew Flinders Scholarship will be given to students who are facing financial difficulties. The scholarship will be sponsored through donations from the community. These funds and gifts have been deposited into the “Matthew Flinders Scholarship Fund” inside the Karmel Endowment Fund at the University.
