About Flinders University and Scholarship

A public research university with its main campus in Adelaide, Flinders University has 11 sites spread across South Australia and the Northern Territory. It was established in 1966 and was given the name Flinders in honor of British sailor Matthew Flinders, who in the early 19th century explored and mapped the coastlines of Australia and South Australia.

The main campus of Flinders University is located in Bedford Park in Adelaide’s south, and it is surrounded by 156 acres of gardens and native forest. The Scholarships are open to applicants of any age, gender, academic major, or university preference. The Australian Government, companies in the commercial sector, academic institutions, and private citizens all proudly support the John Monash Scholarships.

  • During every year of study (up to a maximum of three years), a stipend of $75,000 is provided.
  • John Monash Scholars are eligible for partial or full fee exemptions from the following top colleges for specific degree types: The Universities of Groningen (Netherlands), King’s College London (UK), Cranfield University (UK), and IE University Madrid (Spain).

Eligibility Criteria for John Monash Scholarships

Candidates must:

  • Possess Australian citizenship
  • Have earned a degree from an Australian institution and are close to completing it
  • Be prepared to start postgraduate studies abroad in the calendar year after the year of application; acceptance to the school is not required at the time of application.

Note: John Monash Scholarships are not available to applicants who have been awarded a Rhodes, Fulbright, or Ramsay scholarship.

Selection Standards

The following are taken into account while granting John Monash Scholarships:

  • A degree earned with exceptional performance might serve as proof of excellence. Additionally, it may be shown through accolades, publications, performances, exhibits, businesses, and achievements in professional endeavors.
  • Leadership: Applicants should present evidence of their ability or expertise in this area. This may originate from their academic pursuits, working surroundings, or communities.

  • Citizenship: a well-defined professional path that shows the applicant’s capacity to contribute to Australia and a clear career trajectory that shows the contribution to society. This also makes a strong case for picking a college that is appropriate for the suggested field of study.

There must be three references. Senior individuals who can attest to the applicant’s leadership ability, whether in their fields of study, employment, or personal life, should serve as referees.
