- Eligible Nationalities: All countries
- Acceptable Coursework or Subjects: Ph.D. degree program in any academic field
- Not an Australian permanent resident and national of a country other than Australia or New Zealand
- Intend to live in Sydney, Australia, while running for office
- Consider pursuing a Master of Research – Year 2 (MRes Y2) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

- Plan to enroll in a full-time Master of Research Year 2 or Doctor of Philosophy program in S1 2024.
Application Procedure for Macquarie University International Research Excellence Scholarships
- All candidates must choose “International Research Scholarship” as their application scholarship category in order to be considered for this fund. Candidates who have already begun the MQ HDR program in S2 2023 only, or who have within the past six months acquired a valid Macquarie University letter of offer for a higher degree research program, must submit an online HDR application for Scholarship Only. - Supporting Records: To submit your application to the Higher Degree Research Office, you must include two academic referee reports.
- Admission Criteria: Applicants are urged to review the university’s admittance criteria.
- You must be proficient in English to be eligible for a Macquarie research degree.
