About Flinders University and Scholarship

Flinders University is a public research university with 11 locations distributed across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Its administrative center is in Adelaide. In honor of British sailor Matthew Flinders, who in the early 19th century surveyed and charted the Australian and South Australian coastline, it was founded in 1966 and given the name Flinders.

The main campus of Flinders University is located in Bedford Park in Adelaide’s south, and it is surrounded by 156 acres of native bushland and gardens. Tonsley, Adelaide’s Central Business District, Renmark, Alice Springs, and Darwin are among other campuses. The Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group comprises this institution. The best university in the nation for postgraduate employment outcomes is Flinders University, according to the 2021 Graduate Outcome Survey – Longitudinal Report from the Australian Government’s Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching.

In the inner southern Adelaide district of Bedford Park, the university’s main campus is situated about 12 kilometers south of Adelaide’s center. The university is also present in Tonsley and Victoria Square in the city’s center. Additionally, it keeps up several facilities for outside instruction in rural South Australia, southwest Victoria, and the Northern Territory. A variety of offshore programs are also provided, mostly in the Asia-Pacific area, and as of 2020, 19.5% of the on-campus student body was made up of foreign students.

In addition to higher degree research supervision in all areas, Flinders University provides more than 160 undergraduate and graduate courses. Several courses augment in-person instruction with the use of new information and communication technologies, which also provide flexible possibilities.

With the help of the DST Scholarship, students beginning their combined Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electronic Systems and Security) and Bachelor of Science (Physics) degrees will be able to afford their education.
