About Daemen College and Scholarship
Daemen University is a private institution located in Brooklyn and Amherst, New York. The Sisters of St. Francis created the present-day nondenominational institution in 1947, which was formerly known as Daemen College and Rosary Hill College.
1,631 undergraduate and 905 graduate students made up Daemen’s fall 2020 enrollment of 2,536 students. For undergraduates, 64-degree majors in the liberal arts, business, and health sciences were available, as were 19 graduate programs. The New York State Board of Regents authorized a name change to Daemen University in March 2022. Daemen’s primary 46.5-acre campus is situated in a suburban setting in Amherst, New York, which is part of the Buffalo Niagara Region and is located in Western New York.
Daemen is located in Amherst on Main Street, adjacent to I-290, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, and the New York State Thruway. There are 19 buildings or complexes on the Amherst campus, including ones with academic, research, residential, and sporting facilities.
Since 2019, Daemen has been listed as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report. The organization was ranked among the best for social mobility in the report. Nursing, social work, physician assistant studies, and physical therapy graduate programs at Daemen are among the top in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report. Since 2016, Daemen has been ranked among colleges by the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education (WSJ/THE). Daemen has been recognized as a national College of Distinction since 2007. The only program in Western New York that has received approval from the American Bar Association (ABA) is Daemen’s paralegal studies program.
In 2017, Daemen became the sole graduate program in applied behavior analysis in New York to get state approval. In addition to physical therapy, nursing, the visual and performing arts, the liberal arts, business, and education, Daemen offers 65 academic majors and programs. Daemen has been listed as a “Doctoral/Professional Universities” since 2018.

For international students planning to enroll in a degree program in the upcoming academic year, you are encouraged to apply for a College Founders Scholarship. Based on academic achievement, first-year students or transfers are given this distinguished grant. The First Yeap Award is worth $11,000. Amount of award: up to $8,000 (Transfers). Eligibility Criteria for Daemen College Founders Scholarship
