Oxford, England The institution of Oxford is a coeducational research institution. It is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the second-oldest institution in existence that has been continuously operating since there is evidence of teaching as early as 1096. It expanded quickly when Henry II forbade English scholars from enrolling at the University of Paris in 1167.
The AIG Imoukhuede Foundation Scholarships were established in 2017 to provide talented West Africans interested in a career in public service the chance to study a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government. Since 2017, 29 scholarships totaling more than £50,000 have been given to aspiring public sector executives who have shown a love for the field.
The AIG Scholars spend a year studying at one of the finest institutions in the world, learning from the excellent academic staff and industry professionals, and networking with other students who aspire to become public sector leaders from all over the world. After receiving their degrees, scholars return to their home countries where they employ what they have learned to strengthen policymaking, promote reforms, and advance their nations’ development.
